Wilbur “Wayne” Holtzclaw, 71 of Excelsior Springs, MO died peacefully at his home Monday, September 17, 2018.

Wayne was born on December 25, 1946 in Lawson, MO, to Charles “Charlie” and Burnice (Fields) Holtzclaw.

Survivors include: wife, Shirley (Johnson) Holtzclaw and two daughters of the marriage, Shalae Holtzclaw and Sheila Brown of Excelsior Springs, MO . One son, Terry Holtzclaw of Kansas City, KS and one daughter, Tammy Bennett of Kansas City, MO from a previous marriage. Seven grandchildren, Tuffton, Clayton, and Haydon Brown of Lathrop, MO, Brandon and Shaylinn Young of Excelsior Springs, MO, and Travis Bennett of Excelsior Springs, MO and Trevor Bennett of Kansas City, MO; and three great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Robert “Bob” Holtzclaw of Lincoln, MO and Bill Holtzclaw of Excelsior Springs, MO; 2 sisters: Dixie Klingsmith of Chillicothe, MO and Wanda McElwee of Braymer, MO.

Proceeded in death his parents and 6 brothers John Holtzclaw of Paola, KS, Larry Holtzclaw of Hardin, MO and Charles “Jr” Holtzclaw of Modina, MO in addition three at infancy, Herman, George, and Hank Holtzclaw.

Wayne worked in the automotive industry all his life. He was a skilled autobody repairman. Wayne retired from Kansas City Mack Sales and Service after 25+ years of service.

Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an outdoorsmen and loved nature. He was an avid hunter and commercial fisherman. Spoonbill snagging he loved.

Visitation will be Friday, September 21, 2018 at 2 pm with funeral services following at 3:30 pm at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs. Burial will be at Lawson Cemetery.
