Thomas Dean Reno, 39, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019, at home in Excelsior Springs Missouri.
Thomas was born May 2, 1980, in Leon, Iowa. He is the son of Dean and Joyce Mae (Reuss) Reno.
Thomas was an outgoing man who had a charisma for life. He spent much of his child hood in Leon, Iowa and developed many life long friends. He eventually graduated in 1998 from Mormon Trail High School in Garden Grove, Iowa. He played and loved the game of basketball, and was given the nickname from his peers, “Air Reno.” After High School, Thomas eventually joined the United States Army. He was very proud of his service as a Infantryman to his country. Eventually, Thomas had two children, Skyelar and Alexander Reno who he said to be his greatest accomplishments.
He was a lover of music, especially heavy metal and classic rock. Thomas’s music idol was Johnny Cash who he enjoyed listening to as a young child to the day he passed. Thomas was a stubborn man who was very opinionated, but never let those opinions come in between his friendships. He valued the love of his friends and family above all else.
He is survived by one daughter: Skyelar Reno, and one son: Alexander Reno his father Dean and mother Joyce(Reuss) Reno, one brother: David(Marcy) Reno, one nephew: Jeremiah Reno, and one niece: Selena Reno and two dear friends: Janea Butt and Mandy Simpson, one uncle: Roy(Sandra) Reno, and four aunts: Rochelle(Leonard) Legaard, Pan(Ron) Schreck, Donna Hutsell, and Leann(Russ) Belcher and many cousins. Thomas is also survived by many friends who will miss him dearly.
Thomas was preceded in death by his Uncle, and close friend, Larry Reno. He was also proceeded in death by uncle Gary Legaard, Grandpa and Grandma Reno, Grandpa and Grandma Reuss, and cousins: Chris Killion, PJ Killion, Joey Hutsell, and Barry Reno.
