I'm deeply saddened by the loss of my cousin Steve Gaddie, even though it had been years since we had visited one another, and only recently found each other on facebook after many years apart, we essentially grew up together, primarily when Steve's family would come out to Denver to visit us, Steve is the closest cousin I have, since our ages were so close, (we were born 1 month apart), Steve and I shared a closeness that for one reason or another, I didn't have with any of my other cousins, not that I didn't love them, of course I do, however, Steve and I were close. When he, his mom and dad and little sister came to live with us in Lamar, Colorado, Steve and I were basically joined at the hip, we went everywhere and did everything pretty much together, of course in more recent years, we communicated more on facebook, the last time I actually got to see Steve was in 1982, after that we went our ways and lived our lives, and we eventually reconnected on facebook. I will miss our discussions on fb Steve, the lights are green, I'll see ya when I get there Cuz!

As the obituary states he had a special grin that was infectious. Although I didn't know him outside of work, I could tell that he was a genuine guy. He talked about his family frequently and loved his vacations. Steve was good at his job and always found the good in most, ha ha. I enjoyed working with him as many others did. Steve will be deeply missed by many, he was part of our CDC family for many years. The story of his early years in the obituary was beautiful and confirms his character of the times I had the privilege to know him. Your entire family is in my thoughts and prayers! Go ride in the glory of god Steve!!
