Steve Wayne Maddox of Holt, Missouri, 68, son of the late Henry Herschel Maddox and the late Lora Payne Maddox was born April 30, 1950 in Nortonville, KY. He married Janet Clemons on April 17, 1982. He served his country in Vietnam being honorably discharged in 1976 after receiving the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze service star; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge and Expert Marksman. Steve worked for Platte Clay Electric for 30 years retiring as Operations Manager in 2006. Steve’s fondest pastime was fishing and hunting and especially sharing this with his friends and grandchildren. As a result of his generous nature and humorous personality he was loved by many. He peacefully left this life on June 3 at Liberty Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers. He will live forever in the hearts of those he leaves behind including his wife Janet, son Steven Maddox (Amie) and daughters Carol Ann Atkins and Megan Douglas (Mike). He was known as PaPa to 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving is two sisters, Betty Ann Watson (Jack) and Glenda Sue Kyle (Morris) of Madisonville, Kentucky. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation is Thursday, June 7, at 12:30 PM, service at 2:00 at Hidden Valley Funeral Homes, Kearney and followed by Military Graveside Services at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Kearney.
