Rose I. McQuerrey was born August 23, 1922, in Oak, Missouri, according to family records. She passed away peacefully at Pleasant Valley Manor on September 14, 2015, in the early morning.

She was raised on a farm near Lawson, Missouri, and was a High School Graduate. Rose had a cheerful and optimistic outlook, seeking the best in those she encountered.

Her family was an important part of her life. Her parents, Bill and Mary Ratcliff, had a significant impact on her and both preceded her in death. She was the oldest of seven children, including Ruth, John, Liz, Dan, Charley and Betty. All with the exception of her sister Ruth, preceded her passing.

Rose was employed in different situations that utilized her skills in organization and efficiency. She enjoyed handiwork as sewing and knitting. She had several pets that provided entertainment and company, reflecting her caring spirit.

Rose was a member of different congregations including the Englewood Assembly of God Church in Independence, Missouri. She participated in several areas of church service including a Foster Grandparent Program in 1999.

Her faith as a Christian was the guiding belief in her life and sustained her when physically restricted. Rose continued to read the Bible daily. She often stated that she “would pray” for family and friends. Rose was embraced by the Pleasant Valley Manor staff during the last four and one-half years as an example of her faith in Christ!

Rose, in additional to her sister, Ruth, is survived by nieces and nephews, their spouses, children and grandchildren.

Rose will be buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kearney, Missouri, as she requested.
