Ronnie (Ron) Collins of Kearney, Missouri. Ron was born on January 29, 1947, in Maryville, Missouri, to H.D. and Dorothy Collins, who preceded him in death, as well as his nephew, Ryan Deuchars. He grew up in Parnell, Missouri, and received his college education at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, graduating in 1969, with a degree in Chemistry and Mathematics. He passed away on March 30, 2014, surrounded by his family, who loved him very much.

On January 26, 1969, Ron married his best friend and high school sweetheart, Barbara Downing, in Parnell, Missouri. She survives of their home in Kearney, Missouri. Their union was blessed with one daughter, Stefanie (Barry) Lyle, St. Joseph, Missouri, and one son, Gregory (Renae) Collins of Kearney, Missouri, who survive him. His precious grandchildren, Abigail Lyle, St. Joseph, Missouri; Tanner and Rylie Collins, Kearney, Missouri; Brett Lyle,State College, Pennsylvania; Jesse Lyle, Maryville, Missouri; one great-grandson, Vincent Lyle, State College, PA; and one sister, Karen Forshey, Kansas City, Missouri, also survive him.

He retired in 2012 from a career that spanned forty-five plus years, themajority of which were in the agricultural chemical business, the last twenty years of which were with Albaugh, Inc. in St. Joseph, Missouri.

His many friends and extended family members are left to cherish many wonderful memories of this beloved and faithful man of God, wonderful husband and father, and Papa extraordinare, a true gentleman to all who knew him. His most important accomplishment inlife was a being a courageous and faithful soldier of God.

Ron was a faithful member of Jesus Name Pentecostal Church, Kansas City, Missouri. He was also a lifetime member of the American Chemical Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., with the home-going service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at Jesus NamePentecostal Church, 5225 N Brighton, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Kearney, Missouri.

At the request of the family, memorials may be made to Jesus Name Pentecostal Church, The Pentecostals of St. Joseph, Missouri, Liberty Hospital Hospice, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Texas, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
