Richard “Dick” Dean Ritter, 76, of Kearney, MO, died unexpectedly and peacefully at
home on Monday, August 12, 2019.

Visitation will be 11a-12:30p, Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Hidden Valley Funeral Homes, Kearney, MO. The Funeral will follow at 12:30p.

Dick was born on May 16, 1943, in Kansas City, MO, to Floyd Raymond and Wanda Jeanne (Cave) Ritter. Dick was a 1961 graduate of Kearney High School, a member of Kearney’s first football team in 1959 and part of the 1961 State Championship basketball team. On August 10, 1963 he married Roxanna Bailey. Dick graduated from William Jewell College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business in 1966. He became proprietor of Ritter Grain in downtown Kearney until 1969 and in 1970 he began serving as the first full-time public works employee for the City of Kearney, retiring in 2004.

He took great pride in farming and caring for the Bailey Family Century Farm forover 40 years. Upon retirement, Dick enjoyed collecting and restoring toy trucks and tractors, as well as showing them off to anyone that stopped by. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son and friend to many.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Janice. He is survived by his wife
of 56 years, Roxie, 2 sons, Kevin (Lynnette) and Darin (Melissa), his grandchildren Bailey,
