Randy Kevin Morris, age 60, Watauga, Texas, formally of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Morris was born December 23, 1955, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, the youngest son of Clarence and Dorothy (Popejoy) Morris.

After graduating from Excelsior Springs High School, he joined the US Air Force where he was stationed at F E Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He remained in Cheyenne after his enlistment ended and enrolled in Laramie County Community College where he met his wife of 34 years, Shirley Axtell Morris. Randy worked for many years as a carpenter, teaching it to the mentally handicapped and later to disadvantaged teens. He also worked with his family at Taylor Lawn Service and in maintenance at the Elm’s Hotel and the Wilshire Apartments. He moved to the Ft Worth area with his wife upon the transfer of her job a little over five years ago.

Randy took great pleasure in spoiling his two boxers Moxie and Dibs. He loved music, listening to it and also playing the guitar and drums. He enjoyed mushroom hunting with his family and friends, going even after he lost the ability to eat them. He was a fighter, beating cancer in 2004, 2007, and 2012. He never met a stranger, touched so many lives, and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be missed greatly by his friends and family.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tim Morris, and nephews Jonathan Morris and Drew Morris.

Survivors include his wife Shirley Morris, four daughters Melissa Morris Fletcher, Rachel Morris Miller, Candice Benth, and Melissa Benth, two brothers, Joe Guyer and John Morris and sister, Tish Vest, eleven grandchildren as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
