Myrtle was born February 21, 1933. She is the daughter of the late Jewell Thomas and the late Mary Orilla (Crouse) Adams. She married Robert Leslie Pate on October 17, 1953 in Richmond, Missouri, who preceded her in death on February 28, 2005. They were married for nearly 53 years.
Myrtle’s family was very special to her, starting as a child. She raised her brothers and sisters. Caring for others became a lifetime habit as she tended to play “mother hen” to everyone. She enjoyed her hobbies: camping, playing guitar, and music. She loved to dance.
She is survived by one daughter: Orilla Baker of Excelsior Springs, MO; one grandson: Corey Kellogg (and wife Jocelyn) of Wichita, KS; one great grandchild: Kelsey (and husband Rich) Kirsch of Omaha, NE; and one brother: Earl Ray Adams of Excelsior Springs, MO.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Myrtle was preceded in death by four brothers, four sisters, and her son-in-law, Richard Baker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the ASPCA.
