Dr. Michael G. Waddell, 61, of Kearney, MO, passed away after a 5 year battle with cancer on November 10, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be 6-7:30p, with Rosary at 5:30-6p, Friday, November 16, 2018, at Hidden Valley Funeral Homes, Kearney, MO. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10a, Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Church of the Annunciation, Kearney, MO. Interment will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Annunciation or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Mike was born September 5, 1957 in Kansas City, MO, to James & Leota (Burke) Waddell.
He was a man of strong faith, a member of the Church of Annunciation and a Companion with the Society of the Precious Blood. Mike was a police officer with the Liberty Police Department before going back to college to study chiropractic. He graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College and was a practicing Chiropractor for 27 years in Gladstone, MO. Aside from spending time with his family, he enjoyed hunting, karate where he studied the Ryute system for many years and flying his private plane to visit family. Mike loved talking to people and he never knew a stranger.
Mike is survived by his wife Peggy, children: Jack J. Waddell, Matthew G. Waddell, Evan M. Waddell; siblings: Dr. James Waddell & wife Ruth of Kansas City, MO, Terry Waddell of San Diego, CA, Mary Esparza of Lakeview, TX, Janine Harman of Kansas City, MO.
Mike is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents: James & Leota Waddell; sister: Deborah Edmonds.
