Cleo Maxine (Sallee) Bradford, 92, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018, at her home in Excelsior Springs.

The visitation will be Thursday, May 17, 2018, from 3-4pm at Hidden Valley Funeral Home Of Lawson, 412 N Raum, Lawson, MO.

Maxine was born September 13, 1925, in Kansas City, MO. She is the daughter of the late Frank Monroe and the late Addie Mae (Lawson) Sallee. She married Alan G Bradford on January 10, 1948 at Osceola Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan G Bradford on 11/22/2017.

She was an animal lover and raised many dogs, (chihuahua’s and poodles), cats and almost any animal that needed love, food and shelter. She worked with the public most of her life, not retiring until she was 86 years old. Maxine worked a variety of jobs throughout her life; hostess, bartender, dietary in a hospital and medical records.

Maxine had an adventurous soul, traveling alone to California when she was 18 years old, getting homesick and returning after a few months. She then set off for Minnesota where she spent a few months as well. She enjoyed worldwide travel with her husband but Kansas City was always home.

She was preceded in death by her sisters; Dorothy, Etta, Norma, Nancy, Shirley, Geraldine, and brothers; Robert, John, Harvey, James, and David.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Excelsior Springs Animal Control Center, 1298 S Marietta St, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024.
