Mary C Martin, 83, of Lawson, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018, at home in Lawson.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 21, 2018, from 5-7pm at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Lawson. The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Lawson Church of Christ. Burial will be in Lawson Cemetery following the funeral service.

Mary was born October 20, 1934, in Bass, Arkansas. She is the daughter of the late Lloyd Franklin and the late Mary Alice (McCutcheon) Dodson. She married Howard “Ray” Martin on June 30, 1951, in Harrison, Arkansas, who preceded her in death on June 3, 2016.

Mary went to work when her youngest daughter was in high school, later retiring from Hallmark Cards in Liberty, MO. Mary embraced being a farmer’s wife, making meals for the farm hands and her husband. Mary enjoyed supporting her husband’s community activities in Lawson. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, and tending to her very flowered landscaped yard which she took great pride in. Mary leaves behind, Roxy, her and Ray’s beloved Teacup Yorkie.

Mary is survived by three daughters: Barbara Neal of Kearney, MO, Diana and Darrell Simmons of Waukomis, OK, and Tina and David McKown of Flemington, MO; seven grandchildren: Stacy Neal, Steven Neal, Robin Brancato, Brian Simmons, Megan Leake, Jessica Hull, and Jamie McKown; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Tennie Lou Fitzgerald of Mt Judea, Arkansas, and one brother Lloyd Franklin “Jr” Dodson (Kathy) Dodson of Harrison, Arkansas.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, and one grandchild, Christopher Simmons in 1996.
