Celebration of Life: 10 – 11am, Thursday, July 30, 2015, at United Christian Presbyterian Church, Lawson, MO. The Funeral Service will follow starting at 11am.

Kendall Brink, 75, died at his home in Lawson, MO, on July 26, 2015, with his family by his side.

A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00-11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 30, 2015, at United Christian Presbyterian Church, Lawson, MO, with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

He was born at home on Mother’s Day, May 12, 1940, in Lyons, NE, to Elwood and Alice Brink. He graduated from Central High School in Omaha, NE, in 1958 and the University of Omaha in  1962. He joined the United States Marine Corps and served from 1962-1966 as a pilot in VMF(AW) Squadron 235 “Death Angels” flying F-8 Crusaders. His duty station was Beaufort, South Carolina, before serving in Japan and Vietnam where he attained the rank of Captain before being discharged. Discharged and stateside, he was hired by Trans World Airlines and he flew for the airline for thirty-four years before retiring as a Captain in 2000. He is survived by his wife of over fifty years, Linda, his two sons: Kevin of Marina del Rey, CA, and Collin of Columbia, MO; daughter Kristin and Tony Gunter, and step-grandson Zach Gunter all of Grain Valley, MO; his sister, Sharon Filipcic of Seattle, WA; nieces and a nephew also from the Seattle area; cousins and many dear friends. He was a gentle man with a great sense of humor who was often referred to as the “nicest guy I ever met” by many people who knew or met him. He will be missed.
