Keith Clark Bernard, 82, of Holt, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019, in Liberty, MO.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 31, 2019, from 10-11am at Hidden Valley Funeral Homes, 925 MO-92, Kearney, MO. The funeral will follow at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, KS, following the funeral service.

Keith was born August 19, 1936, in Kansas City, KS. He is the son of the late Lee Roger and the late Mamie (Brooks) Bernard. He married Shelia Jane Durham on February 3, 1961, in Kanas City, Kansas.

Keith was proud to be a Marine and was proud of his service during the Korean War. He was a proud member of the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department and retired from there as Chief. He was also an avid golfer and won many golf tournaments.

He was a friendly man and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed assistance. He loved kids; for a while, Keith would keep a pocket full of quarters to hand out to the little ones. He then started handing out lollipops. He enjoyed playing BINGO, and horserace pull tabs.

He is survived by his wife: Shelia Jane (Durham) Bernard, two daughters: Jennifer (John) Collins and Brenda (Rocky) Briscoe; three step-sons: Ron (Barbel) Grey, Jr, Anthony (Ann) Grey, and Lance (Lydia) Grey; seven grandchildren: Dalton Collins, Meghan Davis, Jeremy Briscoe, Christopher Briscoe, Chance Grey, Diana Kraft and Annette Mitchell; many great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his best friend: Larry Archer; and the many friends he gathered along his life’s journey.

In addition to his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Roger Bernard, brother, Roy Glen Bernard, brother, Eugene Conner Bernard, and sister, Marjorie Lee Bernard.
