Jeannine Jacqueline Bryan was born into this life on Thursday, December 13, 1928. She passed from this life on Saturday, October 3, 2015. For some 86 years, 9 months, and 20 days she loved, and was loved by, lots of people. It was in 1946 that Jeannine graduated from Lathrop High School and met the love of her life. She always said they met while at the movie theater in Lathrop. Jeannine and United States Army PFC Dwain Perren were married on December 11, 1946, at Jeannine’s aunt’s home in Kansas City, Kansas. They were married almost 69 years (lacked just 2 months).

Truly, her marriage gave Jeannine wings. Jeannine became:

  • A farmer’s wife
  • Mother to two children – Mike and Jocelyn
  • Church Clerk at the First Baptist Church, Holt, MO
  • Grocery Clerk at Grant’s Grocery in Lathrop, MO
  • Teller and Clerk, Kearney Commercial Bank, Kearney, MO
  • Baker of hundreds of Blue Ribbon winning Angel Food cakes
  • Good neighbor
  • Attendee of numerous Elementary School, High School, and College music concerts, Graduations, and Rodeo events
  • Grandmother of 5 (Melanie Perren Marks, Jenna Perren, and Lauren Perren Stafford; Jackie Sims York, and Brady Sims)
  • Great-Grandmother of 3 (Caroline and Robert Marks; and Kimber York)
  • Aunt (in some way) of dozens: Albrights, Barners, Perrens, and all those by marriage
  • Hostess of 12 of the greatest family reunions ever – each known as a “Bash”
  • Home Maker – truly the maker of a home
  • Great friend

So many of the things Jeannine did, though, she did because of the love she had for others – a lot of love for a lot of others. Maybe she personified thinking with one’s heart – maybe not a bad thing. She loved her Lord, she loved her family, she loved her neighbors, she loved her friends, she loved her co-workers – probably the list goes on and on. Jeannine will be greatly missed by Dwain; Mike and Jerri Ann; Jocie and Reid; Melanie, Jason, Caroline and Robert; Jenna; Lauren and Mitch; Jackie, Jesse, and Kimber; and Brady; all the relatives; and all her friends. Probably, if you are reading this, there’s a good chance you will miss her, too.
