Harvey R. Foster, 92, of Lawson, MO, passed away September 17, 2015, just 24 days short of his 93rd birthday.

Visitation 10 – 11am, Monday, September 21, 2015, at Hidden Valley Funeral Home, Lawson, MO; Graveside service will follow at 11am at Lawson Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to: VFW Building Fund, c/o Jeff Bye, Lawson, MO.

Harvey was born October 11, 1922 in rural Benton County, MO. Harvey was the last survivor of 12 children of Fred and Lola Foster of Lincoln, MO.

Harvey joined the US Army during WWII, serving in North Africa and Italy, and receiving the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for injuries and Valor. He was a business owner in Lawson in the 50’s and 60’s, owning a frozen food locker and grocery, and, later, a Western Auto Store. Harvey later moved to Auburn, NE, also owning a Western Auto Store for 31 years. He retired to Lawson, MO, in 2008.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; a son Gary and his wife, Carol, in 2013.

Harvey is survived by his son: Ronald Foster & wife, Ellisa, of Lathrop, MO; 2 step-daughters: Carol and Gladys Ann of Kansas City; 5 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and his former wife: Dorthy Wollard, mother of the sons, of Lawson.
