Franklin F. Bray, 98, of Kansas City, KS, died 09/29/2019. Vis: 11-12 pm; Service: 12:00 pm; Friday, 10/11/19, Hidden Valley Funeral Homes, Kearney, MO. Burial: Maple Hill Cemetery at a later date.

He was born September 11, 1921, in Kansas City, KS. He is the son of the late James and the late Dora (Hubbard) Bray. He married his loving wife Vera (Domanovsky) Bray in 1975.

Franklin was a WWII Veteran, serving his country from 1944-1946. He was a proud Marine and was honored to receive the Purple Heart award for his brave fight in the Battle of Iwo Jima.

After retirement, Franklin enjoyed traveling to places such as Alaska, Germany, and Italy.

Franklin had a great love for his wife Vera and his family. Even at the age of 80, you could find Franklin helping Linda and John with many tasks. He helped them build their house, as well as fencing the property and maintaining it. He was quite determined to get out and drive, and always remained busy. With a caring heart, he spent time cleaning driveways and cutting grass for his neighbors.

He is survived by one daughter: Linda (John) Spick of Lathrop, MO; 2 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dora Bray; wife: Vera (Domanovsky) Bray; one son: Steve Bray; and 11 brothers and sisters.
