  • A private family memorial service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Kearney Missouri.

Forrest Junior Zimmerman, 77 years old, passed away May 6, 2020 at Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, Missouri, where he had resided for 8 months. A private family memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery in Kearney Missouri.

He was born August 11, 1942 in Cainsville, Missouri to parents Forrest Oral and Mary Margaret (Richardson) Zimmerman. After graduation he joined the army and spent 2 ½ years in France. He was proud of his service and enjoyed reuniting with some of his army buddies.

He married Shirley Rucker, January 18, 1964. To this union four daughters, Doris, Tammy, Vickie and Amy were born. From time his first daughter was born, he became Big Daddy to family and close friends.

They moved to Holt, Missouri in 1973, where he resided until moving into the Veterans Home. He completed 30 years with the Teamster Union and worked most of that time for Churchill Truck Lines. He then religiously went to have coffee every day in town so he could keep up on local gossip and worked for Berry Sod Farm cutting sod and mowing until his health failed.

He always enjoyed watching his children playing sports and other activities. But nothing in the world meant more to him than his Grandchildren. He always kept pictures of them in his billfold in case anyone should happen to ask about them.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Everett, Dale and Wayne and sisters Opal, Irene and Arlene. He is survived by his wife of fifty six years, Shirley; daughters Doris (Rick) Berry, Tammy (Danny) Harper, Vickie (Tom) Jensen and Amy Zimmerman, Grandchildren, Richard (Jamie), Brian, James, Trevor, Travis (Nikki), Felicia, Andrew (Miranda), Kylee, Dakota (Alex), and Madelyn; Great Grandchildren, Kendall, Clayton and Stella; three sister-in-laws, Ruby, Ellen and Betty Zimmerman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Arrangements made by Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Kearney, 925 E Hwy 92, Kearney, MO. 64060. 816-903-8888
