Evelyn Josephine Jones, 82, Excelsior Springs, MO, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 29, 2018. Evelyn was born February 13, 1936, to Obed Paul Barber and Grace Evelyn (Brown) Barber in Gallatin, MO. She married Robert Jones on August 7, 1954. She was a homemaker all her life, raising 7 children. She loved everyone, enjoyed fishing, was an avid book reader, loved puzzles, going for long rides in the country and being the neighborhood Grandma. She loved attending the community center and Mosby Opry, listening to their music.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Steven Barber and Jack Barber; one sister: Betty Clariday; husband: Robert E Jones; one grandson: Nathan Schoolfield; and one great-granddaughter: Mystic Angel Rae Ferrell.

She leaves behind one brother: Conrad Keith Barber, Montrose, CO; one son: Paul Jones, Lathrop, MO; six daughters: Roberta Nordsiek, Richmond, MO, Sherry Roller, Excelsior Springs, MO, Judy Johnson, Lathrop, MO, Virginia (and Jeff) Askren, Excelsior Springs, MO, Rhonda (and Dave) O’Dell, Breckenridge, CO, and Amanda (and Jeremy) Romazon, Excelsior Springs, MO; six grandsons: Matt Schoolfield, Excelsior Springs, MO, Robert Stoufer, Independence, MO, Quinn Livingston, Kansas City, MO, Devin Baxter, Excelsior Springs, MO, John Askren, Garden City, MO and Caleb Romazon, Excelsior Springs, MO; three granddaughters: Heather Ward, MN; April Ward, WI and Keira Romazon, Excelsior Springs, MO; three great grandsons, six great-granddaughters and numerous family and friends. She will be missed dearly by all those who knew her.

Visitation has been set for Friday, January 4, 2019 from 12-1p, at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs. Graveside Services will follow at 1p, at the cemetery behind the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you make a donation in Evelyn’s name to either breast cancer research, dementia support or NorthCare Hospice House, 2800 Clay Edwards Drive, 2nd Floor, North Kansas City, MO 64116.
