Eva Nadine Atkins, 90, passed away at the Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehab, Excelsior Springs, MO on August 31, 2016. Nadine was born to Lewis E. Borgmier and Katie E. Henry on February 13, 1926, in Kansas City, MO.

Nadine graduated from Lawson High School in 1943. She married James Tommy Atkins on August 21, 1946, and lived most of her life on their farm in Ray County, MO. Her greatest joy was being a farmwife, mother, and grandmother. Nadine worked for Hallmark Cards after high school graduation and later enjoyed working as a cook for the Lawson School District, Cardinal Drive-In, and the Smithview Manor Nursing home. She taught Sunday School and VBS and filled many roles while a member of the Canaan Hill Nazarene Church, Lawson, MO. She was an active member of the Lawson PTA, 4-H Leader, and was a member of the Union Extension Club. She also loved to read and to visit with those who came to see her in the nursing home.

Her parents and brother Marvin, step-granddaughter Holly and her husband J.T. preceded Nadine in death. She is survived by her two children and their spouses: Tommy Jay and Nancy Atkins, Olathe, KS, and Shirley Kay and Larry Knoch, Lawson, MO; nine grandchildren and step grandchildren and their spouses, twenty great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, and one great great grandson. Her sister Norma Bush and many other extended family members also survive her.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at the Old Union Christian Union Church in Lawson, MO from 10 am – 11 am. The service will follow at 11 am. Burial will be in the Old Union Christian Union Cemetery following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Old Union Christian Union Cemetery or Preferred Hospice.
