Ethel Gean Forte, 87, of Excelsior Springs, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018, in North Kansas City, MO.

Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2018, from 10:30a-12p at Hidden Valley Funeral Home Of Excelsior Springs, 5951 MO-10, Excelsior Springs, MO. The funeral follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, MO.

Ethel was born January 13, 1931, in Chula, MO. She is the daughter of the late Enoch R and the late Gertrude L (Mace) Ireland. She married Antonio N Forte Sr. on July 15th, 1950 in Ogden, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio N Forte Sr. on February 6th, 1994. She was Certified Nurse’s Assistant.

She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved embroidery, QVC, and Publishers Clearing House. Ethel also enjoyed her adult coloring and puzzle books.

She is survived by one daughter: Pat E Shelor of Yakima, WA, and three sons: Samuel E Hughes Sr. of Excelsior Springs, MO, Raymond O (Tammy) Forte of Lake Waukomis, MO and Antonio N Forte Jr. of Excelsior Springs, MO; eight grandchildren; Kimmie Jean Williams, Tricia Liberty, Sammy Hughes, Nick Forte, Denise Brewer, Elaine Shelor, Michael Forte, and Amber Forte; brother: Odis Ireland; sister: Donna Kay Hatfield; several great- and great-great-grandchildren, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ethel was preceded in death by her two sons, Michael A Forte and Thomas M Forte.
