Dylan James Dean Hedges, 17, of Lawson, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at home in Lawson.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 14, 2017, from 4-6pm, at the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, Kearney, MO. The funeral will follow at 6:00 pm at the church.

Dylan was born June 22, 2000, in Liberty, MO. He is the son of Robert D Hedges and Amy N (Turner) Thompson.

Dylan was an active teenager; he enjoyed outdoor activities and could often be found fishing, hunting, riding four-wheelers, playing in the creek, and working on his truck and his friends’ trucks. He also enjoyed playing baseball and hanging out with friends. Dylan liked driving on the backroads with his friends, bonfires, and was a fan of video games. Sometimes he behaved as a typical teenager, sleeping, picking on his siblings and cousins, and playing with his dog, Cyprus; but Dylan truly loved helping people and making people laugh and smile. Dylan always wore his cowboy boots, even if it was with sweatpants or shorts.

He is survived by his father, Robert D Hedges and fiancée Mendy Whitworth, and mother Amy N (Turner) Thompson and step-father Brad Thompson; three siblings: Rebecca Horsey, Taylor Thompson, and Hunter Thompson; one step-sister: Emily Whitworth; great-grandmothers: Helen Burns and Evelyn M Barker; grandparents: Beverly J (Burns) Hedges, Linda and Brian Feurer, and Billy D Turner, Sr; Aunts and Uncles: Marsha and Parrish Vaughn, Jennifer and Toby Clayton, William V Hedges, Billy D Turner Jr, and Michelle Wohlfarth Ruckel, Cheryl M Turner and Steve Pike, Steven Turner, Waylon Turner, and Trinity Kubly; great aunts and uncles: Donald and Michelle Barker, and Cheryl J Genova; and cousins: Aaron Vaughn, Fiona Vaughn, Dylan Prescott McFee, Dayton McFee, Deryck McFee, Kara Clayton, Madison Turner, Cody Turner, Emma Turner, Klarissa Pike, Blayne Pike, Aaron Barker and family, Wyatt and Isabell Vestal, Angelina Genova and Elena Genova.

Dylan was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, William R Hedges, great-grandmother, Fauntell Hedges, great-grandfather, Vernon Burns, grandfather, William “Bill” F Hedges, great-grandfather, Donald R Barker, Sr, great-grandfather, Kenneth V Turner, and great-grandmother, Kathryn M Turner.
