Donnie Ray Turner, 75, of Kansas City, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018, in Kansas City, MO.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.

Donnie was born January 10, 1943, in Maysville, OK. He is the son of the late R Lee and the late Alfie Lorine (Gish) Turner. He married Betty Helen Daley on February 1, 1991 at Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Donnie served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and was very proud of his service. He loved animals and was known as birdman of Benton House (he would collect rolls and biscuits daily to give to the birds). When not on a road trip, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Donnie loved a good steak, especially his T-bone steaks. He also loved his desserts.

He is survived by his wife: Betty Helen (Daley) Turner; six daughters: Jilinda Walker, Jackie Redd, Teresa Rynn King, Carrie Lorene Headworth, Donna Jean Henke and Rhonda Kay Turner; and two sons: Johnny Wayne Walker and David Webster; and four sisters: Loretta Awe, Yvonne and husband Bob Simcox, Pat and husband Royce Blackshear, and Shirley Habbinga.
