Donald Ray Wachter, 61, of Excelsior Springs, MO, lost his battle with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) on July 28, 2017.

Visitation will be 10-11am, Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at Prathersville Bible Church. Funeral Service will follow at 11am at the church.

Donald was born February 27, 1956 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Isabell Wachter. On October 26, 2002, he married Kathryn Swearingin. He was retired from being a security guard.

Donald was a kind, loving, and caring person to everyone he came in contact with. He especially had a good time playing cards and Monopoly with his nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Donald was a member of Prathersville Bible Church in Missouri where he made several friends.

Donald was preceded in death by one brother, Ricky, and his grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn, of 14 years; his mother, Isabell Wachter; two sisters: Sheila Rister and Rhonda Wachter; and one brother: Terry Wachter, all from Cincinnati, Ohio; his father- and mother-in-law, Charles and Joyce Swearingin; his brother-in-law: Chuck (Marcy) Swearingin; two nieces: Brooke Swearingin and Amanda Rister; three nephews: Christopher Swearingin, Kenneth Rister, and Morris Schincke; and his extended family he loved so much: Trinady Dickey, Janet Reed, Tim Dickey, Joe and Cheryl Spears, Nathan, Joseph, and Miranda Rash, Alex and Michelle Pulliam, Daryl and Cindy Justis, Amy Justis, Ashley Renae Foster, Nora Reed and Jeanne Reed.

Donald will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be sent to Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs to help with the funeral expenses.
