Donald Eugene Thomas or better known as Pa, of Excelsior Springs, MO, was born February 11, 1951, in Lexington, MO, the son of Richard and Margaret Thomas. Don passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at North Kansas City Hospital. He was 65 years old and spent most of his lifetime in the Excelsior Springs and Orrick area. Don graduated Orrick High School in 1969 and immediately began his career in Skilled Trade at the Fairfax General Motors Plant in Kansas City, KS.
On September 1, 1972, Don married Cathy Corbin of Orrick, Missouri, at the Methodist Church in Orrick. To this union were born two children, Bo Donald Eugene Thomas and Joshua Eugene Thomas.
Don was a proud member of the Orrick Missouri ADA #444 Masonic Lodge and the Excelsior Springs Elks Lodge. As many of you know, Don was a family man. He loved watching his grandsons play sports. Drake, Dru & Dylan were part of his weekend routine running from game to game. Don also loved spending time with Regan and Logan. He could be regularly caught attending tea parties with Logan or camping with Regan.
Don is survived by his wife Cathy, of the home; Bo, Melissa, Drake, Dru & Dylan Thomas of Liberty, MO; Josh, Carrie, Regan & Logan Thomas of Excelsior Spring, MO; Brother Glen and sister Paula; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Rick & Jim.
Visitation for Don will be 5-8pm, Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church, 1650 Rainbow Blvd, Excelsior Springs, MO. Funeral will be 11am, Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at the church.
A private family internment at Hillcrest Cemetery.
