Donald Hoyt Jacques, 83, of Lawson, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 27, 2015, doing what he loved doing; looking out at his garden and grilling. Don was born on May 4, 1932 in Sarcoxie, Missouri, and was the son of the late Ted and Elizabeth Jacques.

Don retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers 101 after 50 years of service.

Don had never met a stranger and received great joy from serving others. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1956 serving in the Korean War. He was a long standing member of many organizations including: Cuba Lodge 312 (50 years), Scottish Rite Steelville, Missouri (50 years), Aarat Shrine (50 years), and Optimist Club.

Don enjoyed the outdoors and spent his time hunting, fishing, and gardening. He could often be found enjoying life in his bib overalls, work boots, and ball cap. He was a true family man with a generous heart.

He is survived by his wife Margaret of 33 years, son Ted (Kim) Jacques, daughter Tammy (Teddy) Hudlemeyer, and daughter Tracy (Doug) Hudlemeyer. He is also survived by his grandchildren Heather (Ryan), Tina, Todd, and Troy (Danielle), Dalton, TJ, Haylee, and great-granddaughter Jaylenn, sister Barb Baker, and brother Joe Jacques.

Don was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty and Shirley and grandson, Brandon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Brandon M Jacques Foundation PO Box 124, Kearney, Missouri 64060. (contributions will be distributed to National Eating Disorders Assoc. as well as local scholarships)

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 2151 S. Jefferson Street, Kearney, MO, with a Graveside service with full military honors to follow at Glenridge Cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday, May 31, 2015, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Hidden Valley Funeral Home, 925 E. 92 Hwy, Kearney with a Masonic Service directly following.
