Donald Francis Parker, 74, of Lawson, MO, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was born October 5, 1940, to Bernard and Geneve Parker in Brandon, Vermont. He attended secondary schools in Otter Valley, Vermont, before joining the US Army in 1957. He continued his education in the military and the Assemblies of God and received his degree in Specialized Ministries in 1978.
Donald is a veteran of the US Army, having served in Korea, Germany and Vietnam. After leaving the military, he worked for Burlington Northern/Santa Fe railroad for over 25 years.
Mr. Parker enjoyed ministry and pastored more than 30 years at Living Springs in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, River of Life in Topeka, Kansas, and Extreme Life in Lamont, Missouri. He loved Native American missions and was Regional Field Rep for the Pentecostal Church of God. He assisted in building Indian mission churches across America. Donald loved traveling around the world, helping Bible Schools, orphanages and the less fortunate. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God, and served on the district board representing the state of Kansas.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Robert Parker, James Parker, Ronald Parker and David Parker; and one sister, Joan Gordon. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bonnie Lee Parker, of Lawson, MO; two sons, Donald F. Parker II (Rebecca) and Darren L. Parker (Rebecca); two granddaughters, Jessica (Mikeal) Butts and Sara (Bobby) Sumner; two great grandsons, Nathan Butts, and Jackson Butts; one sister, Cheryl Gordon; and two brothers, Kenneth Parker and Mickeal Parker.
Visitation for Donald Parker will be from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Northland Abundant Life Worship Center, 7700 N Church Rd, Kansas City, MO, 64158; Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, March 25, 2015.
