Charles was born February 6, 1951, in Chillicothe, MO. He is the son of the late Alexander Lavelock and the late Frances Doralee (Settle) Minnick. He married Debra Schafer.
Charlie loved hunting and fishing; he also enjoyed keeping his skills up with target practice. Charlie loved to tell jokes, as long as the joke wasn’t on him. He was definitely the life of the party, leading to his nickname “Good Time Charlie”. He was always on the go and never met a stranger, You could go anywhere with Charlie, but nowhere fast since he was always talking to someone. Charlie enjoyed cooking out and loved his annual Hog Roasts. More than anything, Charlie loved his family and his children. He would often say he divorced his ex-wives, but never divorced his kids.
Charlie is survived by his wife: Debra (Schafer) Minnick; children: Charles “Pe-We” and Renee Minnick, Cezann and Paul “Billy” Johnston, and Alexis (Clay) LaBlue; one sister: Bonnell and JD Madden; three brothers: Jess and Connie Clay, David and Rhonda Minnick, and Kenneth and Karen Minnick; six grandchildren: Dejaleigh Minnick, Alexis Johnston, Allison Johnston, Dylan Crowley, Delaney Booth, and Dayvin Minnick; one great-grandchildren: Alijah Booth; and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.
Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Wallace.
