Bonnie Marie Carroll, age 83 of Lawson, MO passed away the morning of August 11, 2017, at the Valley Manor and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be 12:30-2p, Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Flack Memorial Church in Excelsior Springs, MO; the funeral service will immediately follow at 2p. Burial at Crown Hill Cemetery, Excelsior Springs.

Bonnie was born and raised on the family farm near Elmira, MO, on November 2, 1933, to Robert Lee and Estes (Mellon) Marley. She had many adventures with her older sister, Opal Lee (Marley) Callaway. She attended the local one room schoolhouse until high school, where she then transferred to Excelsior Springs and graduated in 1952. After working a few jobs in Excelsior Springs, she met William (Bill) Carroll. Bill and Bonnie married on May 2, 1954. They had 2 sons, Gregory Carroll and Richard Carroll. She then became very busy assisting with baseball and serving as den mother for her sons’ cub scout troop. She worked at the Christian Bookstore in Excelsior Springs for 15 years. She was also very active in church, teaching children and leading the children’s church program and activities. She did this for at least 50 years at Flack Memorial, Vibbard, and Bethel Christian Union Churches. Bonnie and Bill moved back to the family farm in 1976 to assist her parents during their last years, and she continued to live there until her last five months.

Bonnie is survived by her two sons Gregory (Glenda) Carroll and Richard Carroll; three grandchildren Corrie (Kenneth) Vail, Nathan (Ashley) Carroll, and Kristen (Tylan) Mohler; five great-grandchildren Kaitlin Dempsey, Alexander Dempsey, Trevor Vail, Bailey Carroll, and Madison Carroll; three step-grandchildren Jeromy (Stephanie) Hayes, Jessica Rhodus, and Jason (Rhonda) Hayes; three step great-grandchildren, Kaylee Rhodus, Brayden Rhodus, and Max Hayes; also many beloved nieces and nephews.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband William Carroll, her parents Robert and Estes Marley, and her sister Opal Callaway, a grandson Jarrod Carroll, and a great-granddaughter Haven Carroll.
