Anna C. Boettcher, 91, passed away May 9, 2014, at NKC Hospital.

Ann was born February 5, 1923 to Henry Tate and Gladys H (Farr) Rowan near Millville, Ray County, Missouri. She attended Ray County and Hamilton schools. Ann retired from the USDA in Kansas City, Missouri after over 25 years of service. Ann was a member of the Kearney Christian Church.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the Kearney Christian Church at 2:30 pm. Visitation 1-2:30 pm, prior to the service. Burial in Kingston Cemetery Kingston, Missouri.

Ann is survived by her husband of 47 years Dean, son Larry (Carol) Shaffer of Smithville, daughter Judy (Shaffer) Wormsley of Excelsior Springs, Grandchildren, Leanne (Dean) Jones of Orrick, Jennifer (Howard) Browne of KCMO, Darren (Peggy) Shaffer of Smithville, Stephanie Shaffer of Smithville, Gina Oliver(Pete Hubbard) (a granddaughter they raised) of KCMO. Nine Great Grandchildren; Emily (Darren) Newell of London, England, Clayton Jones of KCMO, Julianna, Alexandra and Sofia Santos, Jake and Cole Shaffer all of Smithville, Hudson and Quincy Browne of KCMO. Brother, Charles Rowan of Lee’s Summit, Sister, Maralyn Peterson of North Carolina, several nephews ,nieces, and cousins.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, a son Harold Wayne Shaffer, a son-in-law Tom Wormsley, six sisters, and one brother.

In Lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Kearney Christian Church or The American Heart Association.
